Herbal Treatments for Acne

A number of herbs have been traditionally used to treat acne lesions. There are not many clinical studies on these herbal remedies. However, the known biochemical properties of these herbs or herbal natural medicine formulations suggest that they may indeed be effective acne treatments. Herbs that exert antibacterial, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting, and/or hormone-regulating effects are possible candidates.1 Some of these herbs that research has confirmed either effectiveness as an acne treatment or properties that may make them effective include:
